- Some small clearings.
- Take a compass, a few get lost in there.
- Good networks of spurs and ridges
- Great access to the head of Mangatainoka catchment(Nice beech forest stalking)
- For a good 3-4 day hunt, start here and get picked up from Mangatainoka Hut.

- Some open tops around Biv with good mountain beech faces down to Kiwi creek.
- Great hunting of track along the Ngauroro river, semi steep country but provides good glassing.
