- Big gullies and clearings.
- 30 minutes walk from Mangatainoka hut.
- Campsite with shelter for cooking.
Tussock Saddle (Otore Saddle)

- Good roar block.
- Tussock flats to south.
- Awesome open beech forest to the north of saddle, good network of spurs and ridges to get around.
- Campsite with bivvy shelter for cooking.
Harkness Saddle Shelter
D.O.C Kaweka Pad
- Tight bush.
- Some small clearings.
- Take a compass, a few get lost in there.
- Good networks of spurs and ridges
- Great access to the head of Mangatainoka catchment(Nice beech forest stalking)
- For a good 3-4 day hunt, start here and get picked up from Mangatainoka Hut.
Back Ridge Bivvy

- Some open tops around Biv with good mountain beech faces down to Kiwi creek.
- Great hunting of track along the Ngauroro river, semi steep country but provides good glassing.
